Shastoration Thursday

A hard day of shining up the Shasta plaques

Three things accomplished today:

Trailer wiring verification–check. Embee spent most of the day on his back, or his side, or his stomach, or his other side.  Using an electrical meter and me holding wires together we ascertained that all the wiring on the trailer works! After a quick trip to Big R talking to even Bigger Rob we had all the wiring equipment and supplies necessary to splice a new harness from trailer to car….or so we thought. It appears there is a difference between a male and a female when it comes to connectors. I guess I should have paid more attention in Mrs. Mooney’s sex ed classes in junior high!

Measure bedroom/dining room/living room layout—check. Easy as pie when one room fits all.

Shine up all the aluminum windows, screens, and plaques—check. I found the amazing aluminum cleaner at Napa auto parts. All you have to do is spray it on, wait half a minute, then rinse it off with water. Who knew shiny could be this easy?

All shiny and clean!

The secret to clean and shiny aluminum

Clean the fiberglass rock guard—check. (Ok, so I can’t count…we actually accomplished four things today.)  Scrubbing the front window rock shield with steel wool was a cinch. The thirty-eight years of grime came right off with a little bit of elbow grease. Now if only I could stop itching. Can fiberglass get in your lips?? Because I sure feel little glass hairs tickling me there.

By 4:30 we were tired and ready for a little sustenance. Many locals talk about the hamburgers available at the Centerville Bar so we drove the few miles down the road to check it out. I’ve had better burgers, but you won’t find nicer people than in Centerville. The bar ends up being the community center when school gets out. Kids came shuffling into the bar looking for their moms and some cash to spend at the local basketball game that afternoon. Check out the awesome floor tile work in the bar.

Once home Embee hit the hot tub to warm up his weary bones. Me—I hit the shower to try and disengage the itty bitty glass fibers from my facial skin.

(No pictures of Embee naked this time. You might start to think he spends most of his time that way!
