Red Valentine Wings

Red Valentine Wings

On the first day of Valentines’ Day my true love gave to me,

Red-ed-ed Shaaaaaastaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Wings.

Pretty snazzy, huh? Who needs chocolate when you have an Embee.

I went out to the shop today to check out the paint job from the day before. As tacky as the paint still was when we left yesterday at five o’clock  I was completely and pleasantly surprised to find the paint had hardened perfectly and looks as good as it could be considering it came out of aerosol cans. Whhhooooeee.  I had read about the $50 paint jobs people did to their trailers and I’m a true believer now.  Tractor Paint – Van Sickle top of the line. The real test will be how it holds up over time but fresh out of the shoot it looks pretty mahvelous.

Tomorrow—paint the exterior middle stripe red to match the wings. New Holland Red. Paint the bumper….maybe New Holland Red. Install the lights.

The re-build is so much more fun than the tear down!

  1. I wonder if I would have to sand down all the water based paint that is currently on my 62 Winnebago before spray painting it? I really like the way yours turned out. Can’t wait to see the red stripe. Good job so far.

    • Thanks! With luck the red stripe will be done today.

I wish I had some words of wisdom about your water based paint. Try a small out of the way area and see? (Like under the bumper??)

One thing I learned is I should have worn a mask and a hat! I had Case Power White nostril hairs as well as a nice frosted ‘do.

  2. Nice wings!!!

  3. That is a good idea, to try a hidden spot to test new paint. Ha, funny about the nose hair and frosty do!!

  4. Love love love love!
