Like good winemakers we had to squeeze as much as possible out of the few good days of weather given us in the dead of winter. Now that the sub-zero temperatures are back at night and sub-freezing during the day the restoration is slowing down.
We did have success putting some of the major items back together, though.
All windows are in! J-Channel installed on one side and wheels got their first coat of paint.
When our friend, Craig, saw the progress he was quite complimentary. He likened the transformation to a well-worn woman going in to the plastic surgeon and coming out looking like Gina Lollobrigida.
Embee keeps working on perfecting the red wings. He sanded them down to add a distressed look to them.

HILARIOUS POST!
MY GOD, NOW I’M FOREVER ASSOCIATED WITH GINA.
(NOW YOU KNOW WHAT MY FANTASY LIFE WAS LIKE WHEN I WAS 15…)

Craig, Bet I never told you the story about spending about 4 hours with Gina when I was in Rome circa 1990.

Thanks!! It is coming together. Now if only the weather would cooperate. It’s three below and snowing. Not too conducive to installing putty tape.

She’s coming together quite well, huh? The inside won’t be nearly as pretty as the outside, though. (Yet!) See you in beautiful sunny Arizona soon!
